(Cincinnati, Ohio) - Former Hamilton County Common Pleas Court judge and former assistant Hamilton County prosecutor Fred Cartolano died Wednesday. He was 88. Cartolano was a well-known figure in the Queen City, helping former prosecutor Simon Leis, Jr. in the prosecution of Larry Flynt on obscenity and organized crime charges in 1976. Cartolano retired in February 2003. He continued to serve as a visiting judge.
