(New York, New York) - Donald Trump is trying to halt the defamation lawsuit brought by former Elle magazine columnist E. Jean Carroll, whose attorney on Friday accused Trump of desperation during a court hearing. Trump's legal team asked to stay the case while the Justice Department appeals an October decision denying its attempt to substitute as the defendant in place of Donald Trump.
