(Washington, DC) - A new study shows overwhelming public support for LGBTQ nondiscrimination laws. The Equality Act, which passed the Democratic-controlled U.S. House of Representatives and was debated in the Senate's Judiciary Committee last week, would amend the Civil Rights Act to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Most religious groups support same-sex marriage, the study found.
