Avenatti Pleads Guilty To Wire Fraud And Tax Charge
(Santa Ana, Calif.) - Michael Avenatti, the twice-convicted lawyer known for taking on Donald Trump, pleaded guilty on Thursday to five additional criminal charges. U.S. District Judge James Selna accepted Avenatti's plea to four counts of wire fraud and one count of obstructing the Internal Revenue Service. Prosecutors said the plea subjects Avenatti to as much as 83 years in prison.
