California's Device AV Law Does Not Apply To Adult
(Canoga Park, Calif.) - The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) put out an advisory explaining that California's new device-based age verification law does not apply to adult websites. The bill requires device manufacturers and app stores to collect a user's birthdate or age and provide an API for apps to determine whether a user is under 18 years old. The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) has long advocated for a device-based solution.
