(Tokyo) - Japan will lower its legal adult age from 20 to 18, which may allow some high school students to legally star in adult films. Many in the country have voiced fears. The changes will give Japanese citizens over 18 "the right to sign employment contracts and lease agreements and apply for credit cards and loans. They can be tried as adults in criminal court."
The legal age for drinking, smoking and gambling, will remain at 20.
